Last stop while I was in Albuquerque per a family members rec! The place was pretty big and has two entrances! I enjoyed the vibe inside. It wasn't too busy but had a few ppl playing pool inside and had the game on. So like a restaurant vibe on one side and sports bar vibe on the other side. Literally everything on the menu sounded delicious and I was torn per usual. I ended up ordering the pasta yakini and boudin eggrolls. The eggrolls were super good and that light crisp eggrolls wrapper. The filing was good and not overly salty like some boudin can be. The sauce they put on top was also good and I'm usually very picky about sauces! The pasta was good but I wish it had some spice. It was like a tequila cream sauce base. Sauce was good but just very light in flavor. Think I was expecting more of a Cajun flare to it but think that would be the pasta New Orleans they have. Also,I'm pretty sure my pasta was supposed to have chicken, sausage, and shrimp but there was no chicken in my pasta which was a bit disappointing but it wasn't a huge deal to me. Just wish it had been added so I could get the full experience. The shrimps and sausage were both delicious and cooked perfectly! The shrimp were big and filling. I also enjoyed the garlic bread it came with. For me though, needed spice so if I ever order this again, I'll be sure to have that hot sauce in my bag, swag.

Warning! Do not eat b4 dining at Bama's 1865. But whatever do you dine at Bama's. And if possible pick Sunday Brunch. We started off with Cajun Nachos and they are delicious. Tortillas chip covers with chicken, sausages and Gouda cheese blend. It's 5 star and top three appetizer in the city. The Hen and Waffles are soooo on point. the hen fried perfectly and the waffle is too die for. The oxtails are braised with a killer sauce. Listen this is fun spot with great food

We were here for the Fat Tuesday celebration when they're normally closed. The food was excellent. I've never really sat down and have Cajun food at a restaurant and I want to eat these dishes again. The service definitely needs to be improved. Although they were very generous in amending their mistakes, I just think it's too confusing as a customer too when they lose tickets, bring out the wrong dish, not remembering which table got what. The ambiance is nice, still very much like Saltyard. I will come again when I want to eat Cajun food. I'm hoping the service will have improved by then :)

Hubby and I went to Bama's 1865 again today. This was our second visit in about a month. They had a new menu this time. It was delicious! All of it! On our first visit, the gumbo was very salty and we asked our server to let the chef know. The flavor was awesome, just salty. This visit, it was perfect. It was so good, we forgot to take a picture before we dug in. So nice to know a place will actually take your feedback and make changes, if needed. We got the bayou shrimp, gumbo, shrimp and grits and the new pasta Mardi Gras. We ate all of the shrimp from our appetizer and took the creole butter that it's simmered in to go. It would be great over some pasta and maybe some chicken. The pasta Mardi Gras was a little spicy with plenty of proteins listed on the menu. Definitely didn't skimp. My shrimp and grits were creamy and flavorful with plenty of crispy bacon and andouille. It will be enough for three meals for me. Their entrees were presented beautifully. We got the same server as last time and she was friendly and efficient again. I think her name was Claudine. Another nice touch is that the chef/owner comes out and says hi to the regulars. Very classy. This place has very flavorful, hearty food and my husband and I will be back again!
